Earlier this week ASUS announced a new router. The key to marketing strategy is that this router is to combine performance with simplicity and security. The RT-N16 features 802.11n Draft with three antennas, which theoretically allows it to reach speeds up to 300 Mbps.
According to ASUS, the device contains a powerful processor and 128 MB of DDR2 memory, which should prevent perceptible latency even under high load. Up to 300,000 are supported for sessions of P2P file sharing. It is also possible to divide the bandwidth to ensure stability in the VoIP applications and streaming audio / video files wholesale.
The router has four Gigabit Ethernet ports and one WAN slot. There are two USB 2.0 ports, which allows USB storage devices and existing share printers on the network. EZ Complete all-in-one printer software should allow the printers and scanners used by several people simultaneously.
In addition to the EZ printer software. ASUS bundles other programs with the router. AiDisk for example, Aidisk is used for the rapid exchange of files between different networks. Other programs are EZQoS, quick website, Dr Surf EZ FIP, which is used for tuning and simplification of network applications.
The network provides 64/128-bit WEP, WPA/WPA2-PSK or enterprise, or with a radius 802.1x. There is also support for WPS, standard- which is to simplify the configuration of security.
